Every summer, we host Summer Riding Camps,
for beginner through advanced riders, at Shenandoah River Farm.
The 2009 Riding Camps: July 6-10, July
20-24, and August 3-7. We invite boys and girls, ages 4 - 12,
for a week of TOTAL HORSE AND PONY FUN!!! The camp week is Monday
through Friday, from 8:30 am- 12 noon. The students enjoy learning
the parts of the horse and riding equipment, hands-on grooming and
tacking of the horse, horsey crafts and games, nutritious snacks,
and best of all...learning to ride with daily hunt seat riding
lessons on safe, kind horses
and ponies!
You will be amazed at the progress of your
child in just 1 week! Safety is taught at all times, plus all the
students are matched with older, advanced riding students for
additional safety, mentoring and fun! Weather permitting on Thursday
or Friday, campers will enjoy a trail ride and picnic alongside the beautiful Shenandoah River!
This year we will host the Shenandoah River Farm Open Summer Horse Show on August 15, 2009, for all the campers, current students, and horse enthusiasts throughout the area! There will be plenty of beginner and advanced hunt seat classes, plus three Western and three Game classes!
Please click on the Shows for additional information and on-line registration, prize list, and release forms. A registration form for
the "Heels Down" Summer Riding Camp can be downloaded and mailed
with signed Release Waiver, and a nonrefundable deposit of $50 dollars to me by June 30, 2009. You will find the address on the home page. The remaining balance of $100 is payable on the first day of camp. We have not raised our prices for camp since we started 5 years ago, and it is without a doubt, a fun, safe, memorable summer camp experience for any child who loves horses! Please call if you need any more information prior to registration. |
